The day after my father died I got this letter from Mario Cuomo. My dad was a speech writer for him in the 80s. I don’t actually remember getting this letter, but I found it in my step-mother’s garage years later in my 20s. It struck me that it was a very strange thing to say to a 13 year old boy: “I’m sure you’ll never disappoint expectations.” No pressure! Thanks Governor!
